National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) is a government-sponsored training programme to help graduate and diploma students in the field of engineering / non-engineering to enhance their vocational and technical skills. It is a one-year training programme, in which the apprentices are paid a nominal NATS stipend by the government. After the successful completion of their respective training programmes, the apprentices will be rewarded with an Apprenticeship Certificate (COP) issued by the Government of India through Ministry of Education.
A Certificate of Proficiency, issued by the Government of India, is awarded to apprentices upon completing their training under the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS). This certificate recognizes their practical skills and knowledge in a specific field and is considered equivalent to one year of job experience.
